Frank Norbert

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Frank Norbert became known in the early 1930s as the “fourth messenger” of the academic cabaret group Die Nachrichtener , which in its successful years actually consisted of only three permanent members.

After the departure of the musician Werner Kleine from the ensemble, the group performed with changing musical accompanists on the grand piano or Kapellmeister. However, these were always referred to exclusively as "Frank Norbert" in tour and performance announcements, records, radio and film recordings and are no longer partially comprehensible today. There were rumors that even Wilhelm Furtwängler had played musical parodies with the news under the name “Frank Norbert”. In fact, some later famous musicians are said to have hidden under this pseudonym. It is guaranteed that Norbert Schultze worked with the news under the pseudonym. The same was suggested by Bernhard Eichhorn .

In much of the early specialist literature on cabaret, the companion of the message "Frank Norbert" is assumed to be an actual person.
