Werner Kleine

Werner Kleine (born December 1, 1907 , † November 25, 1980 in Planegg ) was a German composer , author and songwriter .

Life

During his student days, he co-founded the later famous cabaret Die Nachrichtener , which he soon left. From 1934 he worked as a drama composer and conductor at the Munich Kammerspiele ; In 1937 he was appointed to the Berlin Schiller Theater. In Berlin he devoted himself increasingly to the composition of light music and works for the radio. After the Second World War he directed the Steintorvarieté in Halle an der Saale . In this function he wrote numerous revues and conducted the performances himself. From 1953 he was head of the light music department at the WDR in Cologne. From 1964 to 1972 he was head of the upscale popular music department at Bayerischer Rundfunk in Munich.

In addition to numerous songs and lyrics, Kleine also wrote volumes of poetry and novels.
