Frank Ravele

Frank N. Ravele (* 1926 ; † 1999 ) was one of three presidents of the former South African homeland Venda .

From April 18, 1988 to April 5, 1990 he was head of state and thus the second president of the country after Patrick Mphephu . Before that, he served in the cabinet as finance minister. When violent strikes and riots broke out in early 1990, he was overthrown in a bloodless coup by General Gabriel Ramushwana , then Chief of Staff of the Venda armed forces.
