Frank Stubbs
Frank Raymond Stubbs junior (born July 12, 1909 in South Wellfleet , Massachusetts , † April 20, 1993 in Melrose , Massachusetts) was an American ice hockey player .
Career
Frank Stubbs attended Harvard University for two years , for whose ice hockey team he played in parallel. He then left the university without a degree and subsequently played in the amateur field of ice hockey, which made him recommend himself for the 1936 Winter Games. During the Second World War he served as an infantryman in the United States Army in Europe and was wounded several times, for which he received the Purple Heart . In addition to many other awards, he also received the Bronze Star . After the war, he returned to his native Massachusetts and got into the insurance business.
International
For the USA , Stubbs took part in the 1936 Winter Olympics in Garmisch-Partenkirchen , where he and his team won the bronze medal.
