Frank Viola (Author)

Frank Viola (* in New York ) is an American author, speaker, and entrepreneur. He speaks and writes about the spiritual life, the common priesthood of Christians, and organic communities such as house churches rather than hierarchical churches. As an evangelical , he criticizes their superficial rituals and unbiblical practices, and is also attributed to the emerging church movement.

Life

Viola grew up in New York. He studied at the University of South Florida, where he did his Bachelor of Arts. He then continued his education in Christian theology on a self-taught basis and with the help of mentors. He has authored a number of books on the spiritual life and renewal of Christian churches that have been translated into various languages. With his book Pagan Christianity (in German: Heidnisches Christianentum? ), Written in 2008 , he became known worldwide. He speaks about this undesirable development at conferences and also writes about it on his blog at Patheos. Together with Milt Rodriguez and Jon Zens he promotes the development of missional, organically structured and non-hierarchical Christian communities and helps the poor and the oppressed with the proceeds of his books.
