Frankenstrasse 28 (Stralsund)
The house with the postal address Frankenstraße 28 is a listed building on Frankenstraße in Stralsund .
The single-storey , brick gabled house dates from the 14th century. During a renovation between 1974 and 1976, the house, which had previously been changed several times, was largely redesigned in its original form.
A stepped gable with six two-part pointed arches rises above the four-axis ground floor . Towards the courtyard are a Lucht window and over a gable with five rows spitzbogigen hatches preserved. In 1687 a baroque gallery was added to the hall.
Inside the ground floor, which is open to visitors, the original structure of the house, erected on a house tree , and - in the attic - an original elevator wheel are visible. The owner, Josef Wycisk, who had the house renovated with private funds in the 1970s, shows a large collection of bricks in the house.
The house is located in the core area of the city area recognized by UNESCO as a world cultural heritage site of the “ historic old towns of Stralsund and Wismar ”. It is entered in the list of architectural monuments in Stralsund from 1997 with the number 225.
