Frankfurt-Cronberger-Künstler-Bund

The Frankfurt-Cronberger-Künstler-Bund was a secessionist artists' association in Frankfurt am Main that was founded in 1902. It positioned itself as an antithesis to a historical-academic environment. The reference to Kronberg goes back to the Kronberg painter colony .

The members included the German impressionists Rudolf Gudden , Robert Hoffmann , Paul Klimsch , Jakob Nussbaum , Alfred Oppenheim and Ottilie Roederstein . The group was supported by Anton Burger .

The first exhibition in Berlin was in 1904 in the Eduard Schulte Gallery , in 1907 Jakob Nussbaum had his very first exhibition, in 1910 it was also exhibited with other artists as the “Free Association of Frankfurt Artists”. Further exhibition locations were in Bonn, Basel, Düsseldorf and Zurich.
