Franz Zorn

Franz Zorn (born August 30, 1970 in Saalfelden ) is an Austrian ice speedway driver .

Career

He started his career in 1993 in his native Saalfelden , the city that is considered to be the ice speedway stronghold of Austria, since such renowned drivers as Kurt Wartbichler , Walter Wartbichler and Franz Zorn's uncle, Anton Hörl , started their careers there and in Austria's motorsport are a concept.

In 1998 Zorn stood for the first time with a wildcard in the Grand Prix of Assen , before he was able to qualify for the GP series for the first time in 1999. Zorn has also been a member of the Austrian national ice speedway team since 1998. His greatest individual successes are winning the European Championship in 2008, the Vice World Championship in 2000, as well as the bronze medals in 2008 and 2009 in the individual World Championships. Zorn also started for the Donkelo team in the Swedish ice speedway professional league.
