French Wars

French Wars is a collective term for various wars from the 17th to the early 19th centuries. In particular:

• several wars in which, among others, France under Louis XIV . and faced the Holy Roman Empire :
  • Dutch War 1672–1679
  • War of the Palatinate Succession 1688–1697
  • War of the Spanish Succession 1703–1714
• also the coalition wars between 1792 and 1815. In Austria in particular, the term French wars is predominantly related to the coalition wars.
