Fratelli Carli ( German  siblings Carli ) is an Italian family company; As the original producer of an Italian olive oil , it is mainly associated with the brand name Olio Carli .

Company history

Olio Carli shop in Cuneo

In 1911 the Carli siblings, owners of a printing company in Oneglia in the province of Imperia in Liguria , experienced an exceptional olive harvest on their property. The abundance of olives gave rise to the decision of one of the brothers, Giovanni Carli, to produce olive oil and not only sell the additional oil in grocery stores, but also sell it through door- to- door sales. The idea proved to be a long-term success; In 1927, Fratelli Carli became the supplier of edible oil to the Vatican and in 1937 the purveyor to the Savoy court . In 1948 the factory, which had been destroyed by the Second World War , was rebuilt. In 1997, on the initiative of Lucio Carli, the Linea Mediterranea (German: Mediterranean line) was published, a product department for cosmetics made from olive oil.

Carli Olive Tree Museum

In Oneglia, the Carli family set up a private multimedia museum that traces the use of olive trees and the production of olive oil from ancient times.
