Women supplement

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In the past, the women's supplement was a commonly used term for a weekly supplement to a daily newspaper that specifically dealt with so-called “female topics”. This mainly meant fashion, housekeeping and health / beauty care. The oldest women's supplements can be dated to the end of the 19th century .

Some of these women's supplements have fallen out of use, on the one hand due to women's magazines (classic and emancipated) and on the other hand due to the expansion of the interests of the female readership.

In some daily newspapers, the women's supplement was illustrated in color long before the newspaper.
