The Frauencomputerzentrum Berlin e. V. (FCZB) ( spelling : FrauenComputerZentrumBerlin e.V. (FCZB) ) is a continuing education institution by and for women that has existed since 1984 . The FCZB is based in Berlin and is also active nationwide and internationally through various projects.

aims

The FCZB offers further training for women in the field of IT . The center was the first organization in Germany to offer IT training for women on a regular basis. At the same time, within the framework of European projects, concepts for the implementation of gender mainstreaming and diversity strategies in business and further education were developed.

history

Until 2000, the Berliner Frauenbund was the sponsoring association of the FCZB. Chairwoman of the independent supporting association FrauenComputerZentrumBerlin e. V. is the medical sociologist Giselind Berg. Karin Reichel is the managing director.

From 2001 the FCZB created the first and so far only European database of women in management positions in business and politics . The database contains data for the years 1996 to 2003. In July 2004, the FCZB opened Germany's first IT self-learning center for women. Since 2005, more concepts and training have been developed for the FCZB's own e-learning platform.

The FCZB is financed through income from further training offers and through public funding in regional, national and European context. The approximately 20 full-time employees work in the areas of further training, research and concept development.
