Frederick Challenger

Frederick Challenger (* 1887 in Halifax ; † 1983 ) was an English chemist and biochemist .

He received his doctorate for his work with Otto Wallach at the University of Göttingen in 1912 and a doctorate from the University of Birmingham in 1920 . He went to Manchester University and became a professor of organic chemistry at Leeds University . He retired in 1953. He continued his scientific work until 1978. His work focused on the biological methylation of semimetals .
