Frederick James Rowan

Frederick James Rowan (* 1816 in Ireland ; † August 29, 1884 ) was a railway designer. Among other things, he was involved as an engineer from 1859 to 1872 in the construction of the first railway line in northern Jutland .

His son William Robert Rowan designed the Rowan steam engine in 1876 , which was used in many trams and as a Rowanzug in mountain railways and a copy of which was also delivered to Australia for Victorian Railways in 1883.
