Frederick Williams

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Frederick "Fred" Williams , also known by the nickname La Prieta , was an English football player in the position of striker , who played for Pachuca AC between 1915 and 1920 and won the Mexican championship twice with this club .

His most successful season - at least in Mexico - was the 1917/18 season, when he won the Mexican championship for the first time and with his five goals in ten games was also top scorer in the Mexican league, although he won this title with the equally successful striker Lázaro Ibarreche from Club España and his teammate Horacio Ortiz had to share.

After the club was dissolved immediately after winning the next title in 1920, many of its former players went to the capital to play for Mexico City-based clubs in the newly created capital league. It is not known whether Williams also took this step or where he lived from then on.
