Free Zone (Scientology)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Free Zone ( Engl. : Free Zone , also Independent Scientologists ) refers to a reform movement known as Free Scientologists .

Emergence

A power break in the guide squads of Scientology led 1982/83 to the fact that former senior officials were declared (including co-founder of the organization) to so-called "suppressive persons" and excluded from the organization.

Bill Robertson founded Free Zone (today: Ron's Org ) in 1982 . The term is applied today to all Free Scientologists . They continue to rely on L. Ron Hubbard and claim to be working with his techniques.

The Church of Scientology and Free Scientologists accuse each other of falsifying Hubbard's teachings and methods.

Content and goals

Based on the philosophy of Scientology, which has its roots largely in Buddhism, the Free Scientologists see themselves as followers of philosophies of knowledge. One of them deals with the change of people through self-acquired knowledge with the aim of arriving at a greater understanding and greater responsibility towards themselves, others and their entire environment. This results in the chance of every human being to free himself from undesired states and to regain hidden abilities through his own strength and with the help of a precise technology of the mind. Courses and lectures are offered for this purpose.

Free Scientologists expressly differentiate themselves from the official and unofficial organizations of the Church of Scientology, but also refer to a tolerant approach to other beliefs and philosophies. They do not want to be geared towards material gain, but rather strive for a social understanding of philosophy.

development

You can now find Free Zone groups around the world as a global network. In Germany there are organizations in Berlin, Hamburg, Bremen, Magdeburg, Dresden, Bonn, Leverkusen, Cologne, Wuppertal, Stuttgart, Wiesbaden, Frankfurt am Main, Offenbach, Munich and Nuremberg.

criticism

“It remains to be seen where these Scientology alternatives lead. Their technologies are also based on the totalitarian ideology of L. Ron Hubbard. Fundamentalist Scientologists can be found especially among the 'Independents' who previously held leading positions in the old SO. Are they really capable of reform or will they just form another totalitarian variety? Skepticism is appropriate. Even if they currently show little political orientation and expansion efforts, it must not be overlooked that Scientology, even as a psycho cult, is not based on democratic values and cannot manipulate people.
