Ellert en Brammert is an open-air museum in Schoonoord (municipality of Coevorden ), Province of Drenthe , Netherlands . The museum is named after the giants Ellert and Brammert. The origin of the museum goes back to the centenary of the town of Schoonoord a few years after the centenary of the Oranje Canal. For this anniversary, some Plaggenhütten, simple huts with a layer of Heidesoden as roof covering, were reconstructed. Over the years, these were expanded into a medium-sized open-air museum by adding more buildings to the museum. In addition, the museum has a reconstructed megalithic tomb and a hut of the two eponymous giants, freely designed by museum staff.
