Freischütz is a catapult - steel coaster on the model X-Car Launch Coaster from manufacturer Maurer AG in Bavaria Park ( Reisbach , Bayern , Germany ), which was opened on August 21, 2011th
The 483 m long track reaches a height of 24 m and has four inversions : an inside top hat , a loop and two heartline rolls . The train is accelerated by LSM . The train is not braked by braking at the end of the journey, but by the linear motors that accelerate the train at the beginning of the journey. This means that the route can only be traveled by one train. If the number of visitors is low, the train can be accelerated one more time on the acceleration section without first being braked (see flying start ). In addition, the braking energy is recovered when braking with the linear motor , which is used for the first time on a roller coaster.
The railway thematizes the eponymous opera Der Freischütz by Carl Maria von Weber .
