Freixo de Baixo is a place and a former municipality in northwest Portugal .
Freixo de Baixo belongs to the Amarante county in the Porto district . The municipality had an area of 5.8 km² and has 1,438 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011).
On September 29, 2013, the municipalities of Freixo de Baixo and Freixo de Cima were merged to form the new municipality of União das Freguesias de Freixo de Cima e de Baixo .
