On January 1, 2008, Fresenius ProServe GmbH , a subsidiary of Fresenius SE & Co. KGaA , was merged into the new Fresenius Helios and Fresenius Vamed divisions. The range of services offered by Fresenius ProServe included hospital sponsorship, planning, construction and technical management of hospitals and health facilities as well as pharmaceutical and medical technology production plants.

The following companies were part of Fresenius ProServe:

  • hospitalia international (today Fresenius Vamed)
  • Helios Clinics (today Fresenius Helios)
  • Vamed (today Fresenius Vamed)

With the acquisition of Helios Kliniken at the end of 2005, Fresenius ProServe became one of the leading private hospital operators in Germany (today: Fresenius Helios).

On December 19, 2006, a contract was signed with NNE for the sale of its subsidiary Pharmaplan. NNE is 100% a subsidiary of Novo Nordisk . Pharmatec, a subsidiary of Pharmaplan, initially remained in the hands of the Fresenius Group, but was sold to Robert Bosch GmbH on May 1, 2007 .
