The Frickhinger facilities in the former city moat of Nördlingen are a recreational zone close to the city and a botanical teaching park. The area, about 17,100 m² in size, is named after the pharmacist and scientist Hermann Adalbert Frickhinger (1851–1940), who made the construction of the park possible by purchasing land and donating it to the Nördlinger Beautification Association.

In the plants are rare outlandish, and native plants and trees: Ginkgo , Siberian birch , catalpa , Antler Tree , cephalotaxus among others, integrated into the park are a rose garden and a number of contemporary artworks by Ernst Steinacker .
