Peace dance

Peace Dance ( Latvian Miera deja ) is a sculpture in the Latvian capital Riga .

It is centrally located in Basteiberg Park north of Riga's old town.

In the course of a redesign of the park from 1968 on, several works of art were put up in the Basteiberg park, including the peace dance from 1970. The approximately two meter high work of art was created as a cast aluminum by the sculptor Pārsla Za Aluminiumkalne. The work is inspired by the painting The Dance by Henri Matisse and works by the Swedish sculptor Carl Milles .

The sculpture depicts three female nudes dancing together. In 2010 a restoration took place.
