Chausseehaus in Rollsdorf

The Chausseehaus in Rollsdorf is located on the western outskirts of Rollsdorf ( Lake Mansfelder Land ) in the district of Mansfeld-Südharz in Saxony-Anhalt .

Like milestones, Chausseehaus were part of the standard equipment of Prussian state exhibition lakes in the first half of the 19th century. The road from Berlin to Kassel was built in the Langenbogen - Nordhausen section between 1824 and 1826. The Chausseehaus in Rollsdorf was completed in 1826 and, in addition to the Chaussee taker, also housed two road keepers who each supervised half a mile of the street.

The building in the street "Am Bindersee" is under monument protection and was entered in the monument register with registration number 094 76461 as a monument . In terms of architectural history, the Chausseehaus belongs to the classicism era . The wing of the building attached to the south-west corner, which extends to the street and housed the expedition room, is particularly striking. This was certainly cheap too, in order to be able to handle customs duties from the window in bad weather, as this element can be found in different forms in many high street buildings. Nevertheless, the building in its special design is a rare type of high street, as these often looked strictly symmetrical.
