Peace ways
Peace Ways (Italian: Le vie della pace ) describes a series of restored front paths from the First World War between Ortler and Isonzo . This extensive network of paths made up of former supply and patrol trails, created during the mountain war of 1915-1918 and some particularly striking heights on Monte Piano and in the area of the Plöckenpass , were made accessible again by Dolomite friends and volunteers from more than 20 nations so that they can be called " Paths that once separated fronts ... connect today. ”The initiator and longstanding promoter was Walther Schaumann , who, together with his wife Gabriele, has also written numerous books, illustrated books and tour guides on the subject.
