Friederike Funk
Friederike Funk (born November 14, 1796 in Meißen ; † after 1830) was a German opera singer (soprano).
Life
The daughter of a postmaster from Meissen received her singing training from Johann Aloys Miksch . In May 1816 she received her first engagement at the Dresden court theater . Afterwards she stayed in Italy for two years , mediated by Morlacchi , to perfect her voice. In the fall of 1818 she sang the title role of Rossini's Elisabetta regina d'Inghilterra in Dresden , and in 1822 Agathe in Weber's Freischütz . In 1824 she sang the Eglantine in Weber's Euryanthe . In 1827 she returned to Italy after guest appearances in Darmstadt . In the 1830s she returned to Dresden and worked as a singing teacher. Most recently she lived with her daughter in Paris .
