Friedhelm Berres

Friedhelm Berres is a former German basketball player .

Life

Berres played basketball as a teenager at SSV Max von Laue Koblenz.

He moved up to the USC Heidelberg Bundesliga squad for the 1973/73 season and became German champions with the team in his first year of play. In 1973 he moved to the Bundesliga competitor USC Mainz. After two years in Mainz, Berres also played in the Bundesliga with ADB Koblenz in 1975/76.

Between 1973 and 1976 Berres played 35 senior international matches for the German national basketball team and in 1974 and 1976 also took part in the European Cup for national teams with the selection.
