Location and history

Registered as number 5073 according to the Berlin cemetery list, it is located on Romain-Rolland-Straße, in the corner along Idunastraße. The state-owned Heinersdorf cemetery is a real village cemetery, and the size of 7,222 m² refers to this.

It was created in 1890 for the community of Heinersdorf and came to Berlin with the formation of Greater Berlin in 1920. In 1905 the celebration hall was built. This was renovated in 2000 after almost 100 years.

Today the cemetery is still on the edge of Heinersdorf, but in the middle of a settlement of single and small apartment buildings.

The entire complex is under monument protection, with the celebration hall and a hereditary burial wall. In accordance with its location, mainly resident Heinersdorfers are buried in this cemetery. The family grave of the Heinersdorf mayor and food manufacturer Friedrich Tinius is remarkable.

There is a war cemetery in the cemetery. 88 victims of war and tyranny rest in the grove of honor, plus a single grave site according to the War Graves Act.
