from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Itter Cemetery is a Düsseldorf cemetery in the Holthausen district . It was built around 1800. The date of the first burial is unknown, as the documents of the Catholic community were lost during the Second World War . Since 1919 the cemetery had a Catholic part as well as a Protestant part. In 1929 the denominational separation was dissolved. In 1953 a small chapel was built for the first time. From 1954 the cemetery was extended to the Catholic cemetery of the Itter community, which was later integrated into the cemetery. In 1980/81 a new chapel and a new depot were built. The burials of the districts of Holthausen, Itter, Himmelgeist , Garath and Hellerhof take place in the cemetery .
