Cemetery cross

The Zeilsheim cemetery is the cemetery in the Zeilsheim district of the city of Frankfurt am Main .

The cemetery at Welschgrabenstrasse 20 has an area of 4.6  hectares and offers space for 2,300 graves. It opened in 1912. Before that, the old cemetery existed in Bartholomäusgasse near the church. This was first documented in 1820. After it had not been used since 1912, it was leveled in 1941 and converted into a children's playground in 1951. At the edge of the playground there is still a post-baroque stone wayside cross from the 19th century in a simultaneous wayside chapel.

In the new cemetery, the cemetery cross is a listed cultural monument . A memorial commemorates the dead of the clubs and the victims of war, displacement and violence.
