Friedrich II. (Zollern)
Friedrich II. (* Before 1125; † 1142 / after 1145, fallen) was Count von Zollern . He was named as an imperial partisan.
Life
He was the son of Count Friedrich I and Udilhild of Urach-Dettingen.
Friedrich was in alliance with Emperor Lothar III. and at a distance from the Hohenstaufen . However, he joined them after 1138 in the fight against the Guelphs .
At that time the counts were able to considerably expand their allodial holdings of territories and castles in southwest Germany (up to the Rhine and Upper Danube, on the Neckar and in Alsace). Likewise came fief which will soon became hereditary.

Friedrich had the following son:
- Friedrich I (around 1139; † around 1200), Burgrave of Nuremberg ∞ Sophie († 1218), daughter of Conrad II of Raabs , Burgrave of Nuremberg
