Friends Forever
Friends Forever is an artist association of Zimbabwean sculptors that was founded in August 2004. Its headquarters are in Ruwa , 30 km east of Harare City, Zimbabwe .
Members
The members of the group are Mike Munyaradzi, Lawrence Mukomberanwa, Sune Joergensen (they form the board of the association), Fanizani Akuda , Enos Gunja , Edward Chiwawa , Colleen Madamombe , Sylvester Mubayi , Taguma Mukomberanwa, Ennica Mukomberanwa, Netsai Mukomberanwa, Wonder Chikwada, Square Luke, Factor Ziira, Godfrey Kututwa and Shepard Madzikatire.
purpose
The purpose of the association is to sell its own works abroad in greater numbers and at better prices without intermediaries, so that the families can be supported and the very expensive tools can be bought from Europe. At a meeting of all artists on the Mike Munyaradzis farm, the seat of the association, the retail price of each piece is set together. The association buys it from the artist at a basic price and organizes sales exhibitions worldwide, at which one of the artists is present and works on a case-by-case basis. After covering the costs incurred, part of the profit is invested in further exhibitions. Half of the remaining sum - according to their share of the sale - is paid out directly to the artists, the other half is invested in the health care of their families.
