Friends of Science

Friends of Science is a Canadian non-profit organization based in Calgary ( Alberta ). According to their own statements, the members are mainly composed of retired geo and atmospheric scientists and engineers. The group is an Astroturfing organization that works for the petrochemical industry and was founded by the lobbyist Robert Harris, who previously worked for a lobby organization in the energy industry. Friends of Science denies man-made global warming and may a. Funded by coal company Peabody Energy and oil and gas companies.

Position on global warming

According to its own admission, the goals of the organization are as follows:

"Our Goal: To educate the public about climate science and through them bring pressure to bear on governments to engage in public debates on the scientific merits of the hypothesis of human induced global warming and the various policies that intend to address the issue."
