The Zeche Charlotte is a former hard coal mine in the Witten district of Vormholz . The mine was also known under the name Zeche Charlotte im Herbeder Holz . The colliery was located in the Waldbachtal in the Speckbahn / Vorssegge area.
Mining history
Already on September 15, 1759 took place the ceremony of Berechtsame . In 1783 a length field was awarded . The mine initially went into operation but was later received within deadlines . In the years 1825–1829, the Rummelskirchen & Charlotte coal mine was founded with the Rummelskirchen colliery . The purpose of the joint venture was to dig a joint tunnel .
The mine was in operation from 1829. In the following year, the Lina shaft was in production, 855 tons of hard coal were extracted. In 1835 the Carl and Henriette pits were in operation, 1,370 tons were extracted. A year later, production increased to 1,860 tons. In 1840 the Laura mine was in production, 1,046 tons of hard coal were extracted. As of May 1842, the mine was preserved in time limits . On July 5, 1845, a square was awarded . On November 6th, the rightful owners were merged to form the Herbeder coal mine.
