Upper secondary school

The Fritz-Winter Comprehensive School has an upper level from the 11th to the 13th grade. There are between 105 and 125 young people in each grade, so there is a wide range of basic and advanced courses. Most pupils switch from the respective school type with FORQ to their own upper school level. However, pupils from secondary schools and secondary schools who have a FORQ qualification also apply every year. Since registrations have exceeded the maximum available 125 places in the past few years, a performance-based selection process was carried out for young people who had registered from outside.

A large number of students in grade 11 now go abroad for half a year or a full year. The comprehensive schools in North Rhine-Westphalia offer the Abitur after 13 school years.

Sports and art class

The Fritz Winter Comprehensive School has had a sports class since 2005. This has up to five hours of exercise a week. The art class, in which four hours of art per week have to be taken, has existed since 2006. Both profiles are separate classes with 30 students from grades 5 to 10. In the upper school level, sport and art are offered as advanced courses. In all grades, we work closely with cooperation partners from Ahlen and the surrounding area. These include on the one hand the sports clubs and on the other hand the art museum, the Fritz-Winter-Haus and the art association in Ahlen as well as numerous artists from the region.
