Fritz Engelhardt

Fritz Engelhardt alias "Harry Hirsch" is a former German racing driver .

Career

German racing championship

Fritz Engelhardt began his racing career as a private driver in touring car motorsport in the 1970s. In 1977 he started with a Porsche 930 in the German Automobile Round Trip Cup (DARM). There he achieved second place in group 3 + 3.0 in the races in Saarlouis, Hockenheim and on the Avus.

From 1978 to 1980 he drove under his alias Harry Hirsch in a Porsche 934 in the 1st division of the German Racing Championship (DRM). He achieved his best positions of the season there in 1979 with three 10th place each in the races in Mainz-Finthen, Zandvoort and at the Nürburgring. In 1980 he ended his racing career after the DRM race in Zolder, which he also finished with a 10th place.

Interseries

In addition to the DRM, he started in 1979 in a race in the 1st division of the Interseries . There he drove to 8th place in a Porsche 935 in Kassel-Calden.
