Fritz Konir

Fritz Konir (born April 3, 1907 in Vienna ; † July 27, 1972 ibid) was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and union secretary. From 1960 to 1970 he was a member of the Austrian National Council .

After elementary and civil school, Konir attended a technical school and graduated from a middle school for workers. He learned the trade of locksmith between 1921 and 1924 and then worked as a machine fitter. He became unemployed and emigrated between 1935 and 1936. After his return he was again employed as a locksmith from 1936 to 1940, after which he worked as a technician for the Saurer factory between 1940 and 1945 . After the Second World War, Konir became state secretary of the ÖGB -Lower Austria.

Konir was active within the party as district party chairman of the SPÖ-Mödling and represented the SPÖ between 1954 and 1959 in the Vienna state parliament and local council . Then he was from June 30, 1960 to December 31, 1970 member of the National Council.
