Fronteira (Minas Gerais)
Fronteira, which was raised to a municipality in 1943, is located in the west of the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais . In 2007 the population was 13,983 with an area of 200 km².
Fronteira lies west of the Triângulo Mineiro , on the Transbrasiliana highway - Br-153 at an altitude of 458 m. The Rio Grande , a tributary of the Paraná , is dammed by the Marimbondo power station to generate electricity and is the southern border of the municipality.
