Frozen Synapse is an award - winning turn - based strategy game for PCs and tablets from the independent manufacturer Mode 7 Games. It was part of a Humble Indie Bundle called the Humble Frozen Synapse Bundle .
Gameplay
In Frozen Synapse, two opponents with a small number of soldiers with different weapons face each other in a mostly randomly generated terrain. Both are planning their next move, which will take a few seconds of play. Then both moves are carried out simultaneously. Chance plays practically no role in the evaluation. The opponents can simulate the outcome of moves in advance. The graphic representation is kept simple.
reception
Frozen Synapse mostly received good ratings ( Metacritic : 85 out of 100 (Win)). In 2012 it won the Audience Award at the Independent Games Festival and was named Strategy Game of the Year 2011 by PC Gamer US magazine .
