Frozen yogurt
Frozen Yogurt (also known as Frogurt or Froyo) is the ice-cream related desserts , mainly of yogurt and milk (usually skim milk) is produced. Since yoghurt is used instead of cream, the fat content is usually significantly lower than that of normal ice cream. Frozen yogurt is therefore often seen as a healthier alternative to conventional ice cream. Frozen yogurt has gained great popularity, especially in the United States . On the one hand it is sold packaged in supermarkets, on the other hand it is offered in special frozen yogurt “stores” or “shops”, where the production of soft ice cream is similar to that of soft ice cream . It is usually sold there combined with toppings (e.g. fruit).
history
Frozen yogurt was first marketed in New England under the brand name Frogurt in the 1970s . It has been packaged and sold in supermarkets in the United States by Brigham's since 1978 .
In addition, it is mainly franchise chains such as Pinkberry, Red Mango or Yogen Frühz that made the concept of frozen yoghurt shops popular, first in Korea and then in many countries via the United States. These large chains have not yet penetrated the German-speaking area. This is where frozen yogurt began to spread for the first time in 2010 with the start-up Wonderpots. Since then, various brands of frozen yogurt shops have opened up in some major cities. In some countries, including Germany, frozen yogurt products are also occasionally available in supermarkets.
Others
In May 2010, Google released the Android operating system in version 2.2 with the code name Froyo. Each major version of Android is named after a dessert or candy in alphabetical order.
