As fruit-eaters , fruit-eaters , frugivores or fructivors are animals whose digestive system , body structure and behavior are adjusted to the consumption of fruits as their sole food . Especially juicy fruits are in this context as fruits, like them, to the extent of non-toxic to humans and tasty as fruit are called.

Many birds and monkeys are fruit-eaters. Fruit-eating birds are often very picky and food wasters. They test every fruit for taste and almost always only eat parts of it.

Animals that feed on dry fruits and seeds, on the other hand, are called grain or seed eater (granivore).

People who only eat fruits in the broader sense are called fruitarians .
