Footwell

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The free space in front of a car seat in which the feet of the seated person are positioned is referred to as the footwell . The term is often used to describe comfort . The footwell on the driver's side contains the brake pedal , accelerator pedal and, if necessary, clutch pedal .

Ergonomic planning, measurement and comparison are extended: what counts is the kink , the angled foot, leg and thigh length from the foremost footrest to the seat back. The footwell contributes to this. However, it would be uncomfortable if the footwell was only large because the seat surface was kept short. Because of this, the buckling dimension is the better comparison value instead of considering the footwell alone.
