Fox liver

Fox liver is the liver of the red fox . Healing effects were ascribed to it in traditional medicine.

In Pliny (in Naturalis Historia ) and Marcellus dried and grated Fuchs liver comes as Fuchs lung as a remedy for tuberculosis before. Such an effect is ascribed to it in the Economic Encyclopedia .

In the 19th century, fox liver was still considered an emetic in Germany , just as it was used in folk medicine in the Orient.
