The Archive of Pharmacy , abbreviated Arch. Pharm. (ISO: Arch. Pharm., JCR Abbrev: ARCH PHARM), is now a scientific journal published by Wiley- Verlag on behalf of the German Pharmaceutical Society and the Medical Chemistry Section of the Society of German Chemist is published.

The first edition appeared in 1822 under the name Pharmaceutical Monthly Papers .

The name then changed to the archive of the pharmacists' association in northern Germany for pharmacy and its human science (1824). Under the editing of R. Brandes , volumes 40–50 were enclosed in Liebig's magazine Annalen der Pharmacie in the years 1832–1834 .

From 1835 (Volume 51) it was spun off again and renamed the Archiv der Pharmacie, a journal of the Pharmacists' Association in northern Germany .

From 1924 (Volume 242) to 1971 the journal was called Archive of Pharmacy and Reports of the German Pharmaceutical Society , after which the title was shortened to Archive of Pharmacy .

In 1995 the name was expanded again, now the journal was called Archiv der Pharmazie - Pharmaceutical and Medicinal Chemistry and the publication language changed from German to English. Since 1995 the GDCh has also been involved in the publication with the medical chemistry specialist group. In 2005 the name was changed to the currently valid one and the subtitle Chemistry in Life Sciences was introduced. The magazine appears monthly. Articles from all areas of pharmaceutical and medicinal chemistry are published.

The impact factor is 2.59 (2019). According to statistics from the ISI Web of Knowledge , this impact factor ranks the journal 33rd out of 61 journals in the medicinal chemistry category , 86th out of 177 journals in the multidisciplinary chemistry category, and 148 in the pharmacology and pharmacy category . Place of 270 magazines.

Chief editor until 2019 was Holger Stark , Heinrich Heine University , Düsseldorf. Andreas Link, University of Greifswald , has been Editor-in-Chief of the journal since January 2020 .
