Fuglavernd is the Icelandic association for the protection of birds and nature . The association was founded in 1963, works on a voluntary basis and has around 550 members. The organization is based in Reykjavík . Fuglavernd is the Icelandic partner of BirdLife International .
Fuglavernd operates a long-term monitoring of the Icelandic population of the white-tailed eagle (Haliaeetus albicilla) in cooperation with the Icelandic Institute for Natural History.
