Funche

Funche is a typical dish from Puerto Rico . It's a variant of polenta . It consists of three equal parts corn flour , water and milk, and butter; salt or sugar are added for taste. Traditional funche also contains cod . Old reports speak of mixtures of Boniato , plantains or cornmeal ( Harina ) or rice and Viandas (yuca, fried plantains). Often times, other ingredients like coconut milk are also added. Puerto Ricans traditionally eat funche for breakfast. It is served warm.
