The Fund For Global Human Rights (FGHR) is a humanitarian finance company based in Washington, DC

The company is used by foundations as an intermediary to distribute donations to recipients, but also solicits donations itself. Since its inception, it says it has paid around $ 60 million to various programs.

In addition to its headquarters in the USA, the company also has a representative office in the UK under the name Fund for Global Human Rights UK .

Financing and funding

The society was founded in 2003 with the aim of giving donors access to new, emerging non-governmental organizations in all parts of the world.

  • In 2016, for example, the Oak Foundation funded 3 projects for three years with a total of 832,500 US dollars through the Fund For Global Human Rights - the Border Network of Human Rights, the Colibri Center for Human Rights and the Detention Watch Network. In 2018, the Oak Foundation transferred $ 4.4 million to the Fund For Global Human Rights to build a global network of supporters and corresponding communication structures, also with the aim of recruiting new donors.
