The occupation of radio electronics technician was replaced with the expiry of the "Training Regulations of December 12, 1972" on August 1, 1987 by the successor occupation of communications electronics technician for radio technology.

Radio electronics technicians set up and guarantee the technical requirements for radio navigation, radio communication and data transmission via radio and for other areas of radio technology .
