Furia Sabinia Tranquillina
Furia Sabinia Tranquillina was the wife of the Roman emperor Gordian III. who ruled from 238 to 244 AD.
She was the daughter of Timesitheus , who belonged to the concilium principis , an advisory body to the emperor. The young emperor married Tranquillina in 241. Timesitheus thus gained additional influence over Gordian, who was around 16 years old at the time. After the death of her father in 243 and the Gordians a year later, nothing of her has survived. During the reign of her husband, coins were minted with her portrait and her name together with the honorary title Augusta in the legend.
