Please note the note on the applicable legal version.

The Feed Ordinance , together with parts of the higher-ranking Food and Feed Code (LFGB), forms the focus of German feed law .

In addition to detailed regulations, currently provided with six additional annexes , on the nature, placing on the market and intended use of feed, administrative responsibilities are specified at federal and state level .

Its current version implements a catalog of EU regulations in national law and is generally closely linked to the requirements of European regulations on feed law . This applies, for example, to items of regulation such as diet feed ( Section 9a , Section 10 ), feed additives ( Section 16 ), undesirable substances ( Section 23 ) or for feeding regulations for single, compound and complementary feed ( Section 26 ).

The Feed Ordinance is binding for the controlling administrations as well as for production , treatment, placing on the market as well as occasionally for the feeding of feed. The definition and punishment of criminal offenses ( § 35 , § 36 ) and administrative offenses ( § 36a , § 36b ) is based on the corresponding provisions of the LFGB.
