Feed value performance test

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A feed value performance test is a product test that is usually carried out by public institutions, for example teaching and research institutes , in the agricultural sector .

The subject of the test is feed (complete or combination feed ) that is offered by various private providers on the open market for agricultural livestock production or keeping. Methodology and evaluation are based on scientific principles. The focus of the investigations is the efficiency in relation to price and performance. A distinction must be made between fattening feed , feed for animal husbandry ( e.g. for dairy cows and laying hens ) and feed for animal breeding ( e.g. horse feed ).

Regardless of this, the ingredients are analyzed in all feed value performance tests. The results of the feed value performance tests, which take place regularly over a longer test period, are published both by public institutions and by the agricultural specialist press.
